JOB PURPOSE

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and permits, based on the Company policies and business objectives to have a safe manufacturing process.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes to keep the employees educated on the safety standards.
  2. Promote EHS culture in all employees to prevent accidents in Electrophysiology area
  3. Recommend process and product safety features to reduce employee’s exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards.
  4. Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
  5. Investigate industrial accidents and observations, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
  6. Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents for managerial decisions to ensure a safety environment.
  7. Coordinate, participate and execute with other areas the safety and environmental activities/audits/assessments according to global and local requirements to ensure the compliance of the standards.
  8. Provide Support as a member of the Energy Management Team assuring the continuous improvement in environmental management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education       

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health or Environment

Knowledge and skills

  • Experience of environmental, health and safety management systems and the associated standards (ISO14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, etc.)             
  • Costa Rica occupational legislation              
  • Advanced communication skills in English (oral and written)
  • Problem solving approach   
  • Knowledge in ergonomic programs

Experience    

  • 3-5 years in similar positions             
  • 2 years of expertise at medical companies               

License or certification required  

  • Passport and USA visa required
