JOB PURPOSE
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and permits, based on the Company policies and business objectives to have a safe manufacturing process.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes to keep the employees educated on the safety standards.
- Promote EHS culture in all employees to prevent accidents in Electrophysiology area
- Recommend process and product safety features to reduce employee’s exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards.
- Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
- Investigate industrial accidents and observations, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents for managerial decisions to ensure a safety environment.
- Coordinate, participate and execute with other areas the safety and environmental activities/audits/assessments according to global and local requirements to ensure the compliance of the standards.
- Provide Support as a member of the Energy Management Team assuring the continuous improvement in environmental management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health or Environment
Knowledge and skills
- Experience of environmental, health and safety management systems and the associated standards (ISO14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, etc.)
- Costa Rica occupational legislation
- Advanced communication skills in English (oral and written)
- Problem solving approach
- Knowledge in ergonomic programs
Experience
- 3-5 years in similar positions
- 2 years of expertise at medical companies
License or certification required
- Passport and USA visa required
